LOS ANGELES, July 28 (UPI) -- An awkward family meal in Hollywood's 2000 comedy "Meet the Parents" was voted No. 1 in a MovieTickets.com poll ranking film's funniest dinner scenes.

The Web site said 17,172 votes were cast in the online survey, inspired by Friday's theatrical release of the movie "Dinner for Schmucks," starring Steve Carell and Paul Rudd.

The supper scene in "Meet the Parents" scored the top slot on the MovieTickets.com poll with 31 percent of the vote, followed by the one in "Wedding Crashers" at No. 2 with 30 percent, "Christmas Vacation" at No. 3 with 20 percent, "A Christmas Story" with 11 percent and "There's Something About Mary" with 8 percent.

No margin of error or date were given for the survey.
