No preview for Obama 'View' visit     (Entertainment News)
07/28/2010 02:44 P (EST)
NEW YORK, July 28 (UPI) -- White House spokesman Bill Burton declined to tell reporters what U.S. President Barack Obama will say on Thursday's edition of "The View."

The Democratic commander-in-chief taped his first appearance as sitting president on the chat show Wednesday.

His visit with Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, Joy Behar, and lone conservative panelist Elisabeth Hasselbeck is to air Thursday.

Talking to journalists on Air Force One Wednesday, Burton was asked if Obama used any pre-written jokes during his "View" interview.

"Maybe" was all Burton would say.

A reporter pressed further, stating: "It's embargoed till tomorrow. You can't give us something we can use today?"

"Wouldn't that be weird if I was previewing the jokes? Then you've got Elisabeth Hasselbeck not laughing because she already knows the punch line. I'm not doing that," Burton replied.
