NEW YORK, July 26 (UPI) -- U.S. bank Citigroup Inc. said software it designed for the iPhone included a glitch that accidentally stored a user's personal information.
The bank said it had "no reason to believe that our customers' personal information has been accessed or used inappropriately by anyone."
The glitch stored information such as account numbers and security access codes, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.
Citigroup said an upgrade of its application was available that would correct the problem.
The application was made available in March 2009. Citigroup said it frequently tested its application for security issues and that it would now investigate why it took so long to discover the problem.
