SPRINGFIELD, Ill., July 15 (UPI) -- An Illinois newspaper is offering free ringtones made from former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's profanity-laced rants on telephone calls secretly recorded by the FBI.
The Springfield (Ill.) State Journal-Register is offering free mp3 and iPhone format ringtones made from the embattled former official's wiretapped phone calls, including the infamous Nov. 5, 2008 call with former aide Doug Scofield during which Blagojevich described President Barack Obama's former Senate seat as "golden" paired with a profane verb meaning fornication.
"Look it, I gotta tell you: I don't wanna be governor for the next two years. I wanna get going. I'll, I, this has been two ... years where I'm doing the best I can trying to get through a brick wall and find ways around stuff but it's like just ... my family and time is passing me by and I'm stuck. It's no good. It's no good. I gotta get moving. The whole world's passing me by and I'm stuck in this ... job as governor now," Blagojevich says in one of the vulgarity-peppered ringtones, made from the tape of a Nov. 10, 2008, conference call.
The ringtones can be downloaded at the newspaper's Web site, www.sj-r.com.
